1. What is the background of the person teaching the classes?
The Anger Management class & coaching is taught by Sr. Trainer, Ann Perry. She holds a certification with the National Anger Management Association and has over 25 plus years of experience working with high risk offenders.
2. Will bad weather cancel the class?
After the pandemic is under control, we will start in person classes. There is a possibility that the weather could cause delays and/or for the class to be canceled. Please watch channel 5 news (KSDK) for details on cancellations, Also, our staff will send an email to each client with a full update.
3. Will there be any security provided at the classes?
After the pandemic is under control, we will start in person classes. Under most circumstances there will be security at each class. Be prepared to be searched, DO NOT BRING IN CONTRABAND!
4. Are children allowed in the classes?
After the pandemic is under control, we will start in person classes. No. Children are not allowed in the classes. Please make sure you make proper childcare arrangements before the class. Holding services online is definitely an advantage should child care challenges come up.
5. Are breaks offered during the classes?
Yes, there will be breaks during classes.
6. What should I bring to the class?
You are welcome to use an ink pen and note book. Also, you may want to wear some comfortable clothing. (for in-person classes)
7. What happens if I miss one of the classes?
You must attend all classes in order to successfully complete the program and get the necessary credit. However, if you need to 'make up' a missed class, there is a transfer fee of $25.00 fee to attend a different class in order to 'make up' that missed class. Please make sure you are ready and available for the classes once you register! For missed classes email: reschedule@blessedbehindbars.org. We will work with you to reschedule.
8. What are the payment options?
Payment must be paid in full prior to attending the class. You are able to pay through PayPal which is a secure website, you can use Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover Card, or PayPal account.
9. Are there any refunds?
No refunds. We do not process refunds so please make sure you get everything in order before you register for the class. Once you register and make your payment, we are expecting you to attend.
10. What happens after I complete my class?
During the last class each client that has successfully completed the class will receive a certificate of completion. Also, if interested, you are welcome to join our Anger Management Club, this membership is always FREE!
11. What is the Anger Management Club?
The Anger Management Club is a FREE support group offered only to those who have attended and successfully completed the Anger Management class. Those who join the club will receive weekly encouraging emails, tips, and motivational messages regarding managing their anger. You will receive copies of our newsletter, and discounts! And, special invites to the monthly Social Hour!
12. What is the 'Social Hour'?
Blessed Behind Bars Ministry wants to make sure you are successful even after your class! Quarterly, we will host a support group meeting online. We will meet and have a discussion about an Anger Management topic for approximately 30 minutes. Then, allow clients to ask questions, give feedback, and testimonies. Afterwards, we celebrate with food, music, and socializing! (online) FREE to those who are members of the Anger Management Club! Join today!
13. What do I need to do before I register for the class?
Make sure you clear your schedule! Secure childcare for your children, make sure your work schedule is covered, so there are no issues with you attending and successfully completing the class.
14. Explain the Anger Management program (options).
We want to make sure you are successful and if you need additional help we are here to assist you. Sometimes, even after you complete the class you may need a 'REFRESHER'. So we offer an Anger Management class and an Anger Management Refresher Class. Clients must first successfully complete the Anger Management class in order to be eligible to take the Refresher Class.
15. Will I need my identification?
We do not required identification at this time.
16. Explain the waiting list.
We do not have a waiting list at this time. If interested sign up for the anger management class. We do ask that you let us know which class you are interested in (morning class, evening class or weekend).
17. What other classes do you offer?
We have a number of classes/coaching, all focused on those who are on probation & parole. In the near future, we will be offering additional courses. We are preparing for our Domestic Violence class. We also offer Life Coaching.
18. Is there a dress code for class?
During the pandemic, all our courses are online. With that being said, wear your pajamas if you like! Yay!
19. Will I have to take a test to pass the class?
No, you will not have to pass a test. Your responsibility is to attend class and participate when necessary. Remember, you do not pass the class and get credit UNLESS YOU ATTEND ALL THE CLASSES and COMPLETE THE WEEKLY LOGS.
20. How long is the class?
The Anger Management class is a 6 week class, each week the class will meet for 1.5 hours (ONLINE). For example, the evening class may start at 6:00pm and will run until 7:30pm. Please be advised, each class will start and end on time.
21. Do I need to purchase any books for the class?
Clients will have access to our e-book for Anger Management and Log & Diary. Each client will also have full access to all worksheets. However, should you need an additional book you will have to purchase the book(s), which is available through our website.
22. How do I get a FREE email address/account?
